Why This Banner?

          I heard a story years ago. I do not know if it is true or not, but I liked it and it stuck with me. Whether it is true or not does not change my reason for choosing to use the White & Black banner as you enter my webpage.

          While some may see it as a checkered flag reference, or symbolic of crossing a finish line in a race, neither is why I chose it.

          The story I heard was this…During a certain period of time, Jewish homes were built with a small foyer to enter and exit the home through. People would put on, or take off, their coats and footwear there. The floors in the foyers had White & Black checkered marble flooring. The reason was, whether you were entering, or leaving, to remind you that you had just left, or were getting ready to enter the world outside the home; a world full of good & evil. Entering the home, it was a reminder to leave the evil outside and shake it off before entering the peace and security of the home. Exiting the home, it was to remind you what you would be facing once you left the home, and what you would be leaving behind.

          My use here is for those reasons. When you enter or leave my website, I pray you are reminded of the good & evil in the world, but find the peace that passed all understanding, safety and security that I hope for you to feel while you are in my website. If ever you do not feel peaceful, secure and safe in my web home, please let me know.
